Named for longtime festival adviser and cinephile Pierre Rissient,
le Pierre was conceived as a, "temple to film".
From carpet printed with antique film can labels and nitrate warnings to the giant backlit elements in the auditorium,
the theme is cinema and showmanship with a French flair.
The Butterfly Lady, (the muse of
Pierre), came to life from a photograph of a Parisian showgirl from the 1920's.
Her express purpose was to confuse and delight, and Evelyn suceeded famously at both.
