2006 marked my ninth year as Designer for the Telluride Film Festival
, a world class event that lives to celebrate the art of film.  Truly a unique event amongst film festivals, Telluride has always been more about movies than business, more about the people who are the stars, and most importantly, all about the "Show".  Bill and Stella Pence with co-director Tom Luddy have made paramount the presentation of film, and in doing so, afforded me the perfect opportunity to look to the past as a model for the designs that I would propose for this contemporary event.                           Go to the Telluride FIlm Festival Home Page

In 1989, I followed my girlfriend, now wife Deborah, to the festival for the first time, and with two freshly broken ribs from a fall off a scaffold, began my experience with the Festival by hand painting 75 Burma Shave style signs to direct and entertain passholders as they walked across town to the newest and largest cinema Telluride had unveiled.  It would be 8 more years and many more signs before I would find myself responsible for, "the look and feel of the Telluride Film Festival", and fully involved in an experience that would challenge me creatively, personally and professionally.
